If you’ve previously been diagnosed by a Fluence Clinic psychiatrist and would like to book a review, please check our ‘Referrals for Follow-Ups’ section.

If you are a new patient to Fluence Clinic, a Fluence Clinic psychiatrist will need to complete an initial ADHD assessment with you, even if you have a diagnosis from someone outside of our clinic.

This initial assessment will give your Fluence Clinic psychiatrist time to assess you personally and ensure that you are being provided with the ongoing management plan that they believe (in their professional opinion) best suits your individual needs.

For initial ADHD assessments, we are currently accepting valid referrals from patients in Tasmania, Victoria, Queensland, and South Australia.

Our wait times for ADHD appointments are between 1-4 weeks.

Our ADHD assessments are $975, with a Medicare rebate of $427.75. This means your out-of-pocket expense would be $547.25.

To start the process of booking an assessment, we first need a referral from your GP. This referral should be addressed to “Fluence Clinic” or be an open referral, as we cannot accept referrals addressed to other clinics. The referral must state that it’s specifically for an ADHD assessment and include Medicare Item Code 291.

The referral can be sent by you or your GP to [email protected] to begin the process.

Before booking an appointment, it’s very important that you check that your GP is willing to apply for a Schedule 8 Permit and is willing (if required) to prescribe medication after receiving the delegation letter from the psychiatrist.

If your GP is hesitant to prescribe stimulants, we may be able to assist depending on your location. We currently have a network of GP’s in Melbourne and Tasmania we can recommend who are willing to co-prescribe with Fluence Clinic. Please reach out to us if you’d like help finding a suitable GP from these regions.

Once a referral is sent, please give us up to 72 hours to process it. Once done, we’ll contact you to discuss the next steps and send you the pre-booking email. This includes pre-assessment forms, which take about 45 minutes to complete, and our payment details.

After you’ve completed your pre-assessment paperwork and we’ve received your payment, we’ll send you a link to go online and book your Telehealth appointment from the available openings.

Your Telehealth appointment with the psychiatrist will be between 45-60 minutes long. If ADHD is diagnosed, the psychiatrist will discuss a comprehensive management plan and send a delegation letter to your GP in order for your GP to prescribe stimulant medication (where appropriate).

If you’d like proceed with booking an ADHD assessment through Fluence Clinic, please send us a referral from your GP (following the above requirements) and we’ll be in touch within 72 hours.
